“On the Wheels against Cancer” campaign started its journey in 2003 under the auspices of Paralympic winner from Sydney 2000 in cycling sprint and cancer patient Radovan Kaufman. Sadly, he lost the battle with cancer during the first year but as an honor, his name is now a symbol of the campaign “On the Wheels against Cancer”. During the 16th year of campaign our wheels will be turning again to help the cancer patients and we will be spreading the awareness about the prevention, healthy lifestyle, cancer research, and cancer treatment. Each event of the “On the Wheels against Cancer” traditionally starts with a race of the wheeled vehicles (bicycles, scooters, tricycles, inline skates, ...) including also unconventional types such as baby strollers, office chairs, etc. for different age groups and type of the vehicle. Campaign goals – AWARNESS! Spread the awareness of general public about the problems of disabled people and cancer patients – HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! Get children, teenagers and adults involved in physical activities and sport to promote healthy lifestyle – FOUNDRAISING! Raise the donations for the purchase of laboratory equipment The aim for year 2018 is to purchase very important systems for cancer research.
